An Introduction to David and Joan Ellyatt David Ellyatt was born and raised in London, Ontario. In 1963 he married Joan Waggott, a London girl and together they have raised three children. They are also the proud grandparents of four girls and two boys.. David graduated from Elim Bible Institute in Lima, New York and was ordained in June 1964 by the Independent Assemblies of God International. David and Joan have served in various ministerial capacities, as youth pastor, pioneer pastor, short term missionary and they served seven years as a full time chaplain/counsellors for the mentally disabled. In March of 1992 he became the Senior Pastor of Faith Tabernacle of London, and served in this capacity until December 31, 1999. David is a capable minister of the Word, and has ministered at pastoral and church seminars in Ontario, across Canada, the United States, England, and Colombia. In 1984 the founder of Ark Aid Street Mission invited him to help establish a drop-in centre in East London. He served as president of the Board from 1986 to June of 1991. During this time he and Joan also volunteered time to the Mission for counselling and fund raising. This ministry continues to serve the greater London area. Since 1986 David has served on the Administrative Committee of the Independent Assemblies of God International(Canada) as their treasurer and recording secretary. David worked twenty-six years as a Registered Medical Technologist, certified by the Canadian Society of Medical Technologists in the general laboratory disciplines and the discipline specialty of Histotechnology. David also worked at Mohawk College, Department of Health Sciences in Hamilton as an Instructor. As was an elected member of the Board of the Ontario Society of Medical Technologists, he served as their Provincial Director of Education. From February 1984 to March 1992, he was employed as a supervisory technologist in the Department of Pathology at University Hospital (London Health Sciences). Note: David gave his heart to the Lord in a Sunday School class in the Fall of 1952 at a small church in south London on Moore Street called Bethel Chapel. Praise the Lord for faithful Sunday School teachers. A year later he started attending Faith Tabernacle of London, a church which was moving in revival. This church remains his home church and provides a covering for him through the Independant Assemblies of God International (Canada)
